Tourism industry creates jobs and wealth and has tremendous potential to
contribute to economically, environmentally and socially sustainable
development in both developed countries and emerging nations. It has a
comparative advantage in that its start up and running costs can be low
compared to many other forms of industry development. It is also often one
of the few realistic options for development in many areas. Therefore, there
is a strong likelihood that the Travel & Tourism industry will continue to
grow globally over the short to medium term. In this context, the Forum
established the Tourism Strategy Group.
Objectives
- The
Strategy Group will work towards activating the tourism industry in Egypt.

Participate in putting a new scope for the Egyptian touristic map.

Special events shall be arranged to strengthen the marketing and
organizational process in the Egyptian touristic industry.
Strategy Group Work Plan

Organizing different touristic activities and
delegation meetings from the country members in different communities which
Egypt subscribes with.
- Clarifying the opportunities of touristic
investments categorized by economic importance and extent of its completion
with the current projects.
- Clarifying interference, repetitions and
opposition between different organizations working in the field and
achieving practical applicable solutions.
- Encouraging tourism of conferences to promote
development the Egyptian tourism industry.
- Promote cultural and entertainment touristic
activities to build a unified base that can encourage economic cooperation
between Egypt and other countries in the future.
- Open Channels of communications with the
actual workers community in the touristic field to scan opinions and
impressions of tourists and locate points of weakness and strengths.
Governance
- The
Group has a chairman and a vice-chairman.

The Group will hold a minimum of one meeting per month, and is reporting
to the Forum's Executive Board. The Group may hold more than one meeting
when necessary.
