Ambassador Abdel Raouf El Reedy is a former Ambassador of Egypt to the
United States (1984- 92). During his tenure in the USA, Ambassador El Reedy
dealt wifh the Middle East Peace Process and the Gulf Crises and was
actively involved in the negotiations leading to the Economic Reform
Agreements in 1991 between the Egyptian government, the World Bank and the
Infernational Monetary Fund. Presently, Ambassador El Reedy is a Senior
Partner in Ibrachy & Dermarkar Law Firm. He is Chairman of the Board of
Mubarak Public Library and former Chairman of the Board of Trustees of New
Damietta, a newly established city on the Mediterranean coast. Ambassador El
Reedy received his BA in law from Cairo University in 1954, his M.A in
Political Science from Columbia University in 1960
