Realizing
that the ties that link Egypt to the Czech Republic are not only based on
economic relations but on a political relationship of trust and respect,
the Forum held a session with H.E Jan Kavan, Deputy Prime Minister and
Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic. H.E Kavan addressed
issues relating to the possibilities of cooperation between the Czech
Republic and the Arab World in general, later focusing on the potential
for cooperation between Egypt and the Czech Republic.

interesting and lively presentation, Mr. Tom Friedman, Foreign Affairs
Columnist for the New York Times and author of “The Lexus and the
Olive Tree” gave a highly informative and controversial presentation
on the power of globalization and its effects on the Arab world. In his
assessment on the possibilities of development in the Middle East in
general, Mr. Friedman stressed the importance of Information Technology
as the key instrument for growth and prosperity. |
