Achievements of 2005
Egypt-U.S.:
The EIEF deepened cooperation with the government of the United States
of America through three schemes:
April 13-21 First U.S. Trip
(expanding on Egypt-U.S. relations),
May 12-15 Second U.S. Trip
(in parallel with the Egyptian
Prime Minister’s visit to frame the importance of enhancing the
bilateral relations between Egypt and the United States) and
a special EIEF workshop
“Egypt and the United States: Strategic Partners in Challenging Times”
that was held in Egypt in September 2005 in honor of a distinguished
congressional delegation. The forum called on both governments to
enhance Egypt-U.S. relations based on respect, sovereignty and
understanding. The Forum declared its initiative to invite ten young
people from different U.S. constituencies to visit Egypt and meet with
Egyptian youth to promote a better understanding between the two
nations.
EIEF-AmCham:
The EIEF joined forces with different organizations in
Egypt to further enhance Egypt’s economic
prosperity: A joint working
lunch, hosted by EIEF,
between the forum’s board and the AmCham
board took place in February 2005 to identify goals and ways of
cooperation between the two organizations.
EIEF-Library of Alexandria:
A round table discussion, hosted by EIEF,
in conjunction with the Library of Alexandria took place in March 2005
on “Economic Reform in Egypt and
its Effect on Political and Social Reform”
(the event shed light on the “management of change” concept and its
importance in the society).
EIEF-ABC:
A round table discussion, hosted by EIEF,
in conjunction with the Arab Business Council took place in May 2005 on
“Arab Media Initiative” (a paper was developed by the ABC highlighting
key areas of the initiative).
